Today, I've been cleaning the house, organizing a little bit, washing tons of clothes, wiping the counters down, etc... all with the windows down! It's so pretty outside... and did I mention Carson's down for a nap?! :)
After the past week of moving things in and trying to get settled in, I figured that yesterday Carson and I deserved a Mommy-Daughter day to get outside and enjoy this beautiful weather! We went to the library for a few stories and to play, we went to Walmart to get her a few "fun" things... stickers, finger paint, bubbles, sidewalk chalk and just things to keep her occupied while at home, we went for a walk and to the park so she could play. I've felt like I've been a negligent Mommy by keeping her in the house while I've been putting things together, moving things around and almost putting her on the "back burner", so I wanted to make it up to her.
Today, we've played while I was able to clean a little bit.
She seems to be adjusting well to our new house, even though she had a tough time sleeping the second day we were here. (However, I didn't mind the extra snuggles that night.. just a LONGGG day afterwards.)
We are so ready to have Daddy back home with us. I'm ready to be able to say "Daddy's home!!" as the car pulls in the driveway. I'm ready to just be a family again! Until we're able to do that, we'll stay busy doing other things. :)

We're Finally Back in CO!
Since we have finally gotten somewhat settled in Colorado and currently have no Internet or TV, I have had my blog on my mind a lot. If it weren't for the boxes sitting around driving me insane, the millions of clothes to hang up (okay, maybe I'm exaggerating a little), the furniture to be assembled, and a precious but time-consuming little girl, I probably would have more posts. Well, drafted posts.... Hence the no Internet thing.
However, I have come to realize that I need to write things down that Carson is now doing. These days seem to go by so quickly, yet so slowly at the same time. Carson growing up has gone quickly, but waiting for her Daddy to get home safe does not.
We are currently trying to find things to occupy our time until he gets home... Things with children her age so she can have some socialization time. At "home" we had Gymboree, play dates and countless family members to visit. Here, that's not the case. I've found a few things we will be doing. One is a little hiking group with children her age. It will be good for me and also for Carson because we'll get some exercise and some sunshine! :) We'll also be going to Toddler Time at the library which isn't very long, but it's right down the road and free! I love free!
I always said I would never let the TV babysit my child. Well, the past few days that I have been unpacking by myself, I caved. TV has been a God-send. I don't plan on continuing the trend, but sometimes ya gotta do what ya gotta do! She is in love with Elmo and every time I pop that little DVD in, her face lights up and she says "heeeeeeeey!!!"
These days, Carson is into everything! She's picking up on new words DAILY and I always get so excited after she repeats a new word. (This usually involves squeezing her little legs, squealing like a little girl, giving her a peck on the cheek and a hug. Sometimes she's a fan of it and sometimes she says "stttttoooooop". She's already figuring out that I'm embarrassing. Great.) Her favorite word is "Cuuuuuuuuuuup" and she says in the most adorable little southern accent. Another favorite is "daaaaaawwwg" (dog). She can spot a dog from a mile away and loves animals so much. She's also proved to be quite the little helper/mini me. Everything I do, she wants to do. She saw me using the drill to put a TV stand together and before I could even remember I put the drill down, she had it right on the screw trying to imitate me. Not only does that make me realize that she really is watching everything I do, but it makes me realize how quickly she has grown. I look at posts on Facebook and pictures I took a year ago and I cannot believe how small she was. I thank God every day that He has given me the most precious gift in the world, but not only that, but that she is happy and healthy.
Just another "Mommy" post that could probably bored someone to tears, but I know I will look back on it and smile.
Until next time... Whenever that may be.
