However, I have come to realize that I need to write things down that Carson is now doing. These days seem to go by so quickly, yet so slowly at the same time. Carson growing up has gone quickly, but waiting for her Daddy to get home safe does not.
We are currently trying to find things to occupy our time until he gets home... Things with children her age so she can have some socialization time. At "home" we had Gymboree, play dates and countless family members to visit. Here, that's not the case. I've found a few things we will be doing. One is a little hiking group with children her age. It will be good for me and also for Carson because we'll get some exercise and some sunshine! :) We'll also be going to Toddler Time at the library which isn't very long, but it's right down the road and free! I love free!
I always said I would never let the TV babysit my child. Well, the past few days that I have been unpacking by myself, I caved. TV has been a God-send. I don't plan on continuing the trend, but sometimes ya gotta do what ya gotta do! She is in love with Elmo and every time I pop that little DVD in, her face lights up and she says "heeeeeeeey!!!"
These days, Carson is into everything! She's picking up on new words DAILY and I always get so excited after she repeats a new word. (This usually involves squeezing her little legs, squealing like a little girl, giving her a peck on the cheek and a hug. Sometimes she's a fan of it and sometimes she says "stttttoooooop". She's already figuring out that I'm embarrassing. Great.) Her favorite word is "Cuuuuuuuuuuup" and she says in the most adorable little southern accent. Another favorite is "daaaaaawwwg" (dog). She can spot a dog from a mile away and loves animals so much. She's also proved to be quite the little helper/mini me. Everything I do, she wants to do. She saw me using the drill to put a TV stand together and before I could even remember I put the drill down, she had it right on the screw trying to imitate me. Not only does that make me realize that she really is watching everything I do, but it makes me realize how quickly she has grown. I look at posts on Facebook and pictures I took a year ago and I cannot believe how small she was. I thank God every day that He has given me the most precious gift in the world, but not only that, but that she is happy and healthy.
Just another "Mommy" post that could probably bored someone to tears, but I know I will look back on it and smile.
Until next time... Whenever that may be.
